Common questions about crosswalks
- Which crosswalk style should I use?
- Ladder and continental styles are the most visible to drivers and are what most schools and retail centers choose. A simple two-line transverse crosswalk is fine for low-traffic locations.
- Do I need a crosswalk from the accessible stalls?
- Accessible stalls need a marked accessible route to the entrance. If that route crosses a drive aisle, a crosswalk is the clearest way to mark it and is what inspectors expect to see.
- How long does a crosswalk last?
- Crosswalks take more tire wear than stall lines, so expect to refresh them every one to two years on a busy lot.
